92 WINTER EVENINGS
This work is about making insignificant moments visible.
Every circle represents a few hours during the 92 winter evenings in 2022.
PUZZLED #2
Layers of textiles and paper, secured by the process of hand stitching inform the observer of the uncertain connection between delicacy and strength.
A FINE LINE
When locked out of Australia in 2021 Lucie used slow stitching to manage her anxiety and frustration. Stranded for months on the other side of the world, she was forced to find a temporary home. This experience disrupted the balance unfairly in many respects.
HOME AND HUMAN
What portrays the perception of ‘home’ is measured through our individual lens. Its scale is decided by how far we are searching to belong. Nevertheless, we all know it when we are there.
Two collaborative projects by Belinda Jessup, Alistair Riddell and Lucie Verhelst.
FyberMotion’s Pergola and Restless Habitat are activated spaces of moving material that stimulate the senses. They present a unique and changing experience for anyone interested in textiles and their behaviour. Being in this space creates a sense of being part of a dynamic system, which can be felt, seen and heard.
